Situado al sureste de la localidad, Distante a 40 km por ruta nacional nª 6 un lugar rodeado de excelente vegetación espejos de agua, el cañadon de el MAIRAL donde encontramos pinturas rupestres y la huella que nos dejaron impresa nuestros antepasados en la línea sur y los fósiles que están en el rincón que se conoce como la “Tumba de los últimos dinosaurios” donde se encontraron numerosos esqueletos de dinosaurios jóvenes, y también huevos con doble cáscara, y toda la herencia que nos dejo el final de una era. Con cinco salas y más de 4.000 piezas nuestro museo es uno de lo más importante de la Patagonia.

En este viaje guiado por sus cinco salas te encontraras con:
La sala número uno. Sala de pioneros la evolución de Jacobacci y de sus comienzos a través de reseñas historias fotografías de instituciones, comercios y el lugar en sí.
En la sala numero dos. Alfredo Murr, encontramos aquí materiales arqueológicos de la era paleozoica y mesozoica. Materiales como un huevo de dinosaurio encontrado en la década del 40.
En la sala número tres. Jose Maria Kual, muestra y recorrido por la era terciaria cenozoica.
En la sala número cuatro. Ida y Rene Casamiquela, aquí encontraras historias y materiales de los pueblos originarios, y piezas arqueológicas como un hacha ceremonial grabada, que fue donada en el año 2006.
Ya finalizando nuestro viaje en la sala numero cinco. Aquí encontraras todo tipo de materiales de los pueblos indígenas que lleva el nombre de quien fue uno de los encargados durante muchos años, Don Marcelo Loncomán, vaqueano conocedor de toda la Patagonia sur y fiel acompañante de nuestro recordado Casamiquela, juntos realizaron infinitos viajes para dejar en pie uno de los museos mas importantes de la Patagonia y el mundo…
